Online Agriculture Equipment Auction Coming soon!
Who are we?
AgProAuctions.com is an auction web site targeted at farmers and ranchers wanting to purchase new or used agriculture equipment. The items listed on the online auction are typically those listed by agriculture dealers which are aged or distressed but they can also be items listed by individual farmers, ranchers or jockeys. AgProAuctions.com is an "eBay-like" auction for agriculture equipment. Depending on demand, 6 or more auctions may be held per year.
Each auction and the items for sale in each auction are advertised in local trade publications in North and South Dakota and Minnesota. Some examples of these publications include Farm and Ranch Guide, Agri-Guide, Green Sheets, and Tri-State Neighbor.
AgProAuctions.com is owned and managed by Jeff Hallen. Jeff's 10+ years of passion, experience and connection with the agriculture industry put him in a prime position to bring together buyers and sellers. Located in Hettinger, ND, the heart of the mid-west, AgProAuctions.com is in a key location to meet the needs and demands of dealers, farmers, and ranchers.
How the auction works for buyers?
During each auction we make it easy for buyers to find equipment they may be looking for. Buyers learn of each auction and the items in each auction by advertisements placed by AgProAuctions.com in major farm and ranch trade publications in the Dakota's and Minnesota.
The items included in the sale are viewable online approximately two weeks prior to the beginning of each auction, allowing time for buyers to conduct their own research on pieces of equipment they may be interested in bidding on. The online listings include details provided by the seller including a minimum of 4 photos, descriptions - including engine hours and the machine's features - as well as location of the equipment, a starting or minimum bid and a "buy it now" price. A "buy it now" price allows buyers to by-pass the auction and purchase the item for this price. From the time a piece of equipment is available via the advertising or on the auction web site until the close of the sale, buyers contact AgProAuctions.com to gather additional details.
Each online auction lasts for a period of approximately ten days. When the auction is open, prospective buyers place their bids using screen names which protect the personally identifiable information of the buyer. At any one time, the current bid and user name are displayed on the screen. Typically, much of the bidding takes place near the close of the multi-day sale, making it important for buyers to "refresh" their screens to obtain the current bidding information. An overtime rule also exists for the sale of each piece. The bidding of each piece closes at the scheduled time displayed on the web site unless there are successful bids entered within the last five minutes before closing time. If this happens, the item goes into overtime until there are no additional bids for a continuous 10 minutes.
At the close of each auction, AgProAuctions.com informs the seller who the winning bidder was for all items successfully sold during the auction. The seller will then contact the buyer and provide them with a purchase order or bill of sale as well as arranging for delivery and payment. It is important to note that the buyer arranges and pays for their own transportation within 10 days, unless prior arrangements are made with the seller. Additionally, unless specified by seller in the item description, all equipment is sold "as is" without any warranty.
How the auction works for sellers?
Sellers and AgProAuctions.com team up to sell each piece of equipment at the best possible price. Once in contact with AgProAuctions.com, we will provide you with a list of the upcoming auctions and submission deadlines. Sellers will be asked to complete a listing agreement for each auction. This listing agreement is accompanied with a form which lists all of the details and descriptions of the item(s) to be listed on the auction. This description includes, but is not limited to, machine features, engine hours, service work orders where available, a minimum of 4 photographs, starting bid and a "buy it now" price. A listing fee of $250 per item, no matter the value, must also be submitted with the listing agreement and item details to AgProAuctions.com prior to the listing deadline.
With complete information available to AgProAuctions.com, we will include all sellers' items in all advertising which AgProAuctions.com engages in and will ensure that it is accurately represented on the online auction site approximately two weeks prior to the opening of the sale.
AgProAuctions.com will serve as the main contact for any questions prospective buyers may have about the items. In an event a buyer has a question which AgProAuctions.com is unable to answer, given the information provided by the seller, AgProAuctions.com will contact the seller to provide the buyer with the information requested.
If the item is sold via a retail sale prior to submission of AgProAuctions.com's advertising or placed on the web site, AgProAuctions.com will return the $250 listing fee. However, if the item sells after advertising has been submitted for publication or after the item has been placed on the web site, AgProAuctions.com will not return the listing fee. If the auction is open when the item is sold, the seller must have sold the item at the "buy it now" price and it is the responsibility of the seller to close the bidding of the item sold by clicking on the "buy it now" price during the auction. If the seller sells the item prior to the opening of the auction, the seller has the right to sell the item at any price.
Once an auction has closed, AgProAuctions.com will contact the seller informing them which item(s) in the auction sold, the price the item sold for, and the contact details of the winning bidder. It is the responsibility of the seller to contact the buyer and provide them with a purchase order or bill of sale as well as arranging for delivery and payment. The buyer is responsible for paying shipping or providing their own transportation. Sellers have the opportunity to offer financing to the buyer via John Deere Credit, Case Credit or other finance and lending agencies if they choose to. However, AgProAuctions.com will also have links available from the auction site to financing options which buyers can utilize.
