How do I handle shipping and payment?
It is the responsibility of the buyer to pay or arrange for shipping. A seller may offer financing of the item and should be stated in the description of the item. Buyers should work with the seller if a buyer requires financing. AgProAuctions.com also offers information about our financing partners on our financing page. Shipping and payment is expected within 10 days of the close of the auction.

What happens if I can't contact the buyer?
Sometimes people travel unexpectedly; have trouble with their computer, etc. Bear in mind that many people don't (or can't) check their email daily or may not be able to answer their telephone. We ask that you allow people four days to reply to your email or phone call. If after that time you haven't heard from the buyer, please contact us and we'll do our best to put you in touch.

What if the buyer backs out?
If you haven't been able to establish contact with the high bidder, and have allowed at least four days for them to respond to your email, contact us. We'll do our best to help you complete your transaction with the winning bidder. If the transaction does not complete, you may register your comments about the buyer through the Members' Rating system. We depend on our Members' feedback and your experience with a bidder will save others from trouble down the road. A seller also has the right to take legal action against any non-complying buyer.

What happens if no one bids on my item?
We hope that doesn't happen! But, if it does, use it as a lesson and try again. Usually, items do not receive bids when the starting price is too high, or the description does not completely describe the item, or it is placed in an inappropriate category.

How do I find a specific item for sale?
There are two easy ways to find items for sale. First you can use the site search feature by typing in keywords of an item you are looking for in the "Search" box located in the center of each page on the site and click on the "Go" button. The second method is by utilizing the "Categories" area of the left hand navigation on the home page. Select the category which most likely would include your item. You will then be brought to a new page which displays "Sub-categories". Upon selecting the sub-category which most closely relates to the item you are looking, for you will be given a list of all items in that sub-category available on the auction.

How can I trust the Seller?
Most sellers on our site are reputable John Deere, Case, and New Holland dealerships in the Midwest, many which have been in business for many years.
Top of Buyer FAQ's

When does an auction open and close?
The open and close date and time of each auction time is listed in the auction item description as "Auction Start" and "Auction End". All times listed are in the Central time zone.
Top of Buyer FAQ's

What is a "Buy It Now" price?
The buy it now price is listed in the item description, if you click the "Buy it Now" icon within the item description you are purchasing this item at this price and the auction will close automatically. This price is not negotiable. You would select this option to bypass any bidding from other auction participants for this item.
Top of Buyer FAQ's

What is a Power Seller?
A Power Seller lists 25 items with us for one auction. Power sellers receive a 10% discount on their total listing fees, plus each of their auction items are indicated with the Power Seller logo.

Know the overtime rule
Normally, an auction closes at the scheduled time, displayed in the listing. However, if successful bids are entered within the last 5 minutes of the closing time, the auction will go into OVERTIME. The auction is extended until there are no bids for a continuous 10 minutes. This is similar to an auctioneer continuing to take bids until there is no further interest.
Top of Buyer FAQ's

What is an Opening Bid Price?
The opening bid price is listed on the item description and it is just as it states, the opening bid for that item. The opening bid may or may not be the minimum amount the seller is willing to receive for this item. If you place an opening bid and the item is then listed as 'The Reserve Has Been Met' and no one else bids on this item, you will become the winning bidder for this item. If you place an opening bid and the item still says 'Reserve has NOT been met' then you have not legally been bound to the purchase of this item. Only when the reserve price has been met are you legally bound to the purchase of this item.
Top of Buyer FAQ's

What is a Reserve?
A Reserve is a dollar amount which is determined by the seller and is kept behind the scenes and is the minimum amount which the seller is willing to accept for this item. The Reserve price may or may not be the opening bid price. The only way to know if the reserve price is the same as the opening bid price is by bidding on the item. Once the reserve price has been met the item discription will say "Reserve has been met". The bidder who submits a bid which has reached the reserve price will be legally bound to purchase the item if there are no other bids placed before the end of the auction.
Top of Buyer FAQ's

What is a Minimum Bid increment?
The minimum bid increment is set for each auction item and is displayed within the item description. This is the minimum amount you are allowed to bid. For example, if an item's opening bid is $2000 and the minimum bid increment is $100, you will not be able to submit a bid on this item for less than $2100. The "Next bid" will display the amount of the last bid plus the minimum bid increment making it easy for you to know what price the next bidder must bid.

How do I make a bid?
Before making any bids you must first register with AgProAuctions.com and confirm your registration by verifying your email address. Once registered and verified simply open the item you wish you bid on and scroll to the bottom of the screen where you can type in your bid price and submit it. If you are not signed in with your username and password for AgProAuctions.com you will be asked to type in this information in addition to the bid price.
Top of Buyer FAQ's

What is Auto Bid?
One feature available when placing a bid is to check the "auto bid" checkbox. By doing this you will be asked to submit a maximum bid amount. The maximum bid amount is not displayed to other bidders. If you submit an auto bid the auction site will automatically update the item you are bidding on by minimum bid increments anytime someone places a bid which is higher than your original bid. This process will continue until your maximum bid amount is reached. For example, an item is listed for $2000, the minimum bid increments are $100 and your maximum bid amount is $3000. If another bidder submits a bid for $2400, the system will automatically submit a bid on your behalf for $2500. This allows you to outbid others without having to constantly watch the auction. If the next bid amount becomes $3100 and someone else places a bid for this amount, the system will NOT place another auto bid on your behalf as this is above your maximum bid amount. At this point, you have the option of returning to the site and submitting another bid or auto bid if you choose. It is important to note that the maximum bid amount on an auto bid is not necessarily the price you would pay for this item. Using the example from above, if the auction for this item closes and you were the high bidder at $2500 this is the price you would pay for the item, not the $3000 maximum bid amount.
Top of Buyer FAQ's

Can I try out the bidding process by using 'made up' user details?
No. In order to register with AgProAuctions.com you must use a valid email address to complete your registration. By bidding on an item you are legally bound to the bid you place and the seller has legal rights to finalizing the sale.
Top of Buyer FAQ's

How much does it cost to bid?
Bidding as well as registration is free. You can bid as many times on as many items as you choose at no cost to you.
Top of Buyer FAQ's

My bid was confirmed by your system, but I don't see it on the high bidders list. Why not?
This is likely because another bidder has an auto bid on the item you are bidding on. When an auto bid is in place, the system will automatically submit a higher bid on any item that is under the auto bid rule. In order to be the high bidder, you must submit a bid that is higher than the auto bid maximum bid amount. See "What is Auto Bid?" above for more details.
Top of Buyer FAQ's

Do I have to type in all my details every time I make a bid?
No. You only have to log into AgProAuctions.com once after completing and verifying your registration. As long as you are logged into the site you will not need to type in your details for every bid.
Top of Buyer FAQ's

How do I raise a bid when I've been outbid?
To raise a bid simply place a new bid. See "How do I make a bid?" above for details on how to bid.
